Day 2:  Amman - Mt. Nebo - Madaba - Kerak

In the morning after breakfast at the hotel and a short drive, we arrive to Mt. Nebo to retrace the steps of Moses and admire the spectacular view of the Promised Land just as he did over 2,000 year before. It is very easy to feel that you have arrived some place special.  On a clear day Jerusalem, Jericho and the Dead Sea can be seen.  A memorial in Moses’ honor can be found at the entrance to the early Byzantine Christian church on the site where Moses is believed to have died. Continue to Madaba to view the oldest preserved mosaic map of the Holy Land dating back to the 6th century BC located within the Church of St. George. Madaba is not only famous for mosaics but also for colorful, hand-woven carpets.   Next stop, Kerak to visit the 12-century Crusader castle built over the remains of earlier citadels, some which date back to Nabataean times. The castle in itself is more imposing than beautiful, although it is an impressive example of the Crusaders' architectural military genius. Dinner and overnight in Kerak.

Day 3:  Kerak - Dana - Petra

After breakfast at the hotel, start the day exploring one of Jordan’s loveliest hideaways and its most impressive ecotourism project - the 15th century stone village of Dana.  Perched high on a cliff, this charming community offers spectacular views of Wadi Araba. View the terraced gardens and after admire the fine craftsmanship of the local art scene.  Dana is known for its handcrafted silver jewelry, dried fruit, olive oil soap, and leather tanning.  Continue along the scenic King's Highway to Petra, a long, meandering curvy road running through some of Jordan’s gorgeous countryside and small towns. It has been the route of north–south trade and the scene of battles since prehistoric times – but today is a simple byway, often rutted and narrow, which follows the contours of the rolling hills above the Dead Sea rift. Dinner and overnight in Petra.

Day 4:  Petra - Little Petra
Breakfast at the camp, then we will start the Petra site visit.  Petra is a UNESCO world heritage site and was recently voted one of the New 7 Wonders of the World.  It is the legacy of the Nabataean's, an industrious Arab people who settled in southern Jordan more than 2000 years ago. We will arrange your entry tickets and hire for you a private English speaking site guide to explore the lower part of the city for 2.5 to 3 hours.  Enter the site by navigating the narrow kilometer long Siq, or canyon. A horse and carriage can be arranged, if needed.  The walls of the Siq are bursting with color from deep pink to purple to ocher. The path abruptly ends at an opening that reveals Petra’s most famous monument - the Treasury - carved into shear rock and towering over 40 meters high.   Explore many of the over 800 individual monuments including buildings, tombs, baths, funerary halls, temples, arched gateways, and colonnaded streets, that were carved from the kaleidoscopic sandstone by the inhabitants centuries ago.  Deep in the Lost City you can also see Jabal Haron, better known as Aaron's Mountain.  Soaring high on the peak is the tomb of Aaron. Late afternoon, continue to Little Petra where you will be welcomed to a very special Bedouin experience:  an authentic Bedouin dinner, music, campfire and camping deep inside a secret canyon.  The feeling you get here is magical!  Dinner in Little Petra with overnight  at mobile camping.

Day 5:  Little Petra

Breakfast at the camp, then spend the day exploring Little Petra – a hidden gem that many travellers overlook.  Although this is a much smaller version of Petra, it offers an intimate and mystical view of the day-to-day life of the ancient Nabataean's.  It is believed to be a resting place for the ancient caravans traveling along the spice route.  Enter the site through a narrow gorge called Siq al-Baird to view the tombs, temples, and dining halls.  Near Little Petra, continue exploring the ancient Neolithic settlement of Beidha believed to date back to 7000 BC.It was an obvious location to choose as it occupied naturally defended ground, plentifully supplied with water from a nearby spring.  Today one can still see the remains of walls of the early houses and plastered floors. Towards evening, return to the mobile camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 6:  Little Petra - Elgi (Al Hai) - Little Petra
After breakfast at the camp, get ready for a 4x4 adventure to El Hai, an area high above Petra overlooking the village of Wadi Musa far below.  The views from this peak are absolutely amazing!  Take some time to explore the area and the ancient ruins and then return to enjoy another Bedouin night under the stars at the mobile camp.

Day 7:  Little Petra - Petra
After breakfast at the camp, spend the morning at your leisure around the camp.  Early afternoon, check-in at the hotel in Wadi Musa – the village on the outskirts of Petra.  Free time to explore the village.  After, enjoy dinner at one of the many fine restaurants or learn to cook an authentic Jordanian dish and enjoy your reward after! Dinner and overnight in Wadi Musa .

Day 8:  Petra - Wadi Rum
After breakfast at the hotel, continue on by 4x4 to Wadi Rum to experience the solitude and magic of the desert landscape. On one of the best rides of your life, retrace Lawrence of Arabia’s footsteps while viewing the towering castle-like mountains and beautifully colored cliffs that can be seen in every direction.  We will enjoy a picnic lunch in the shade of one of the towering mountains and then continue on to the Small Arch and the Great Sand Dunes. After enjoying a beautiful sunset, end the day at a desert Bedouin camp where you will be greeted with tea and a Bedouin dinner around the camp fire.

Day 9:  Wadi Rum
Today after breakfast at the camp, we will drive deep inside Wadi Rum towards Jabal Al-Hasanah (Fox Mountain) winding through impressive rock canyons and across golden desert sands to reach our hidden mobile camp near Siq Al Barrah. Enjoy dinner around the campfire and listen to Bedouin tales and music under the stars.  This is without a doubt a time where heaven and earth come closer together!

Day 10:  Wadi Rum
After breakfast at the camp, start the day exploring Siq Al Barrah, a rather narrow sandy passage between high mountains, and one of the most beautiful spots in the Disseh region. We will end the day near Jabal Burdah, a majestic mountain with a natural bridge situated high in the peak.  You will be greeted with a very special farewell Bedouin dinner at the mobile camp as your time in this enchanting land draws to a close.

Day 11:  Wadi Rum- Amman
After breakfast at the camp, spend some free time in the morning before continuing to Amman.  Check into the hotel to refresh and then in the afternoon, explore Jabal Amman and its cozy and diverse atmosphere offering modern enjoyable hangouts, markets, and wonderful views or visit Amman's ancient Citadel.  This site has seen the rise and fall of most of the civilizations that have inhabited Amman for the past 7,000 years.  It is most noteworthy for the Temple of Hercules, the Umayyad Palace, and the remains of a small Byzantine Church. At the foot of the hill lies the 6,000 seat Roman Theatre, built in 161 CE, and which to much amazement is still used for cultural events today.  In the evening, we will dine at a famous restaurant known for its exquisite Jordanian cuisine.
