Day 1:  Sheikh Hussein Bridge - Ajloun - Jerash - Amman

Meet and assist at Sheikh Hussein Bridge then we continue to the forested area of Ajloun to explore Al Rabad Castle better known as Ajloun Castle. Though looking like a Crusader fortress, it was actually built by the Muslims in 1184 as a military fort and to protect the region from invading Crusader forces.  Next, a beautiful drive through the hilly landscape covered with olive and orange trees will lead to Jerash, so well preserved that one can almost hear the banter of the merchants and the creaking of chariot wheels along the cobblestoned streets. It was an extraordinary place in the days of Alexander the Great (332 BC) and was very prosperous  - 20,000 inhabitants once lived here. There are numerous and breathtaking ruins of colonnaded streets, arches, temples and baths in a remarkable state of preservation and completeness.  A private guide will extensively explain the history of this special place.  After, transfer to hotel in Amman for overnight at 3* hotel.

Day 2:  Amman City Tour - Madaba - Mt. Nebo - Dead Sea

Breakfast at the hotel, then starts the morning with a city tour of Jordan's capital, mentioned in the Bible as Rabbath Ammon.  The city is built on a series of jabals (or hills) and offers spectacular vistas at every turn.  Towering above the city on Jabal Qala'a is the Citadel.  This site has seen the rise and fall of most of the civilizations that have inhabited Amman for the past 7,000 years.  It is most noteworthy for the Temple of Hercules, the Umayyad Palace, and the remains of a small Byzantine Church. At the foot of the hill lays the 6,000 seat Roman Theatre, built in 161 CE, and which to much amazement is still used for cultural events today.  .We will also visit the Archeological and Folklore Museums.   We then continue to he “City of Mosaics” with a visit to the Church of St. George and view the oldest preserved ancient mosaic map of the Holy Land and the Church of the Apostles, where some of Madaba's most extensive and beautiful mosaics adorn the floor. Continue to Mt. Nebo and retrace the steps of Moses and admire the spectacular view of the Promised Land just as he did over 2,000 years before. It is very easy to feel that you have arrived at someplace special.  On a clear day, Jerusalem, Jericho, and the Dead Sea can be seen.  A memorial in Moses’ honor can be found at the entrance to the early Byzantine Christian church where he is believed to have died. End the day at the world's largest natural spa and one of the most unique spots in the world - the Dead Sea. Experience the strange sensation of floating effortlessly while the mineral-rich water and black mud treatment soothe both body and soul.  Dinner and overnight at the Dead Sea at 4* resort.

Day 3:  Dead Sea - Wadi Mujib Siq Trail - Kerak  - Petra

Breakfast at the resort, then the morning will be filled with fun and adventure on the Siq Trail in Wadi Mujib.  This lowest nature reserve on the planet is surrounded by massive multi-layered rock walls.  During your hike, clamber up and over rocks against the river's current while holding on to the embedded rope for support. This water trail winds its way through a spectacular gorge ending at a large, rushing waterfall.  The trail is self-guided but there are people stationed along the way to help you through the more tricky areas if you need.  After your water adventure, continue to Kerak to explore 12-century Crusader castle built over the remains of earlier citadels some which date back to Nabataean times. The castle in itself is more imposing than beautiful, although it is an impressive example of the Crusaders' architectural military genius. The commanding view over the region is spectacular. End the day in Petra with dinner and overnight in 3* hotel.

Day 4:  Petra - Little Petra - Wadi Khudereah - Little Petra

After a short drive to Little Petra, start a full day of hiking in Wadi Khudereah.  The trail quickly veers off into a streambed lined with pink oleander, eventually flowing into the siq or slot canyon where towering sandstone cliffs rise up. It is like walking through a giant art gallery, a living, constantly changing gallery offering a rainbow of colors woven into the rock.  Enjoy lunch along the way and return to Little Petra for camping and dinner under the stars.

Day 5:  Little Petra - Petra

Breakfast at the camp, then today trek to the legendary city of Petra, a UNESCO world heritage site and one of the 7 New Wonders of the World.   Through the “secret” back entrance to the Rose Red City, this “off the beaten path” reveals parts of Petra unknown to many. Full of suspense and stunning views, trek through magnificent gorges, negotiate wadis, and scramble over mountains on the way to the Monastery.  This massive façade, Petra’s largest monument, was built by the Nabataean’s over 2000 years ago. These ancient people were not only engineering geniuses but also a mastermind in business as they played a major role in trade and commerce. Continue exploring over 800 individual monuments including buildings, tombs, baths, funerary halls, temples, arched gateways, and colonnaded streets built over 2000 years ago. And imagine, this mystical city still has many other secrets to reveal, as only 15% has been uncovered!  Overnight in Petra at 3* hotel.

Day 6: Petra - Wadi Rum

Breakfast at the hotel, then during the second day in Petra, enter the site from the main entrance – the Siq. This narrow gorge is hundreds of meters high; the walls are bursting with color from deep pink to purple to ocher. The path abruptly ends at an opening that reveals Petra’s most famous monument - the Treasury - carved into shear rock and towering over 40 meters high.  Continue exploring the city until mid-day, and then transfer to Wadi Rum. Imposing, towering rocks and crags – God’s skyscrapers - rise up from the desert floor and the silence seems to thunder through the canyons. Famous for its rugged mountains and colored sand dunes, this is, without doubt, a place where heaven and earth come closer together. Explore its vastness during one of the best rides of your life - during a 3-hour sunset 4x4 safari.  After, settle into the campsite and enjoy an authentic Bedouin meal around the campfire. Dinner and overnight camping in Wadi Rum.

Day 7:  Wadi Rum - Aqaba

Breakfast at the camp, then today, experience Wadi Rum as the Bedouin have for centuries – by camel.  Towering, castle-like mountains ad beautifully colored cliffs can be seen in every direction.  One can easily imagine that Lawrence of Arabia might come galloping around the next corner.  After, continue exploring the desert during a 2-4 hour trek on foot.  Get an up close and personal view of the desert landscape and see why Lawrence described this enchanting land as “vast, echoing and God-like”.  In the afternoon, continue to the seaside resort of Aqaba to explore the many souks, eateries and coffee shops.  This “Red Sea Riviera” is also a famous diving location.  Overnight in Aqaba at 4* hotel.

Day 8:  Aqaba - Arava Border
Breakfast at the hotel, then according to your departure details, transfer to Arava Border.
